I wonder how many times we inadvertently pass a television news station and get sucked in by the ALERT… and less than a moment of being mesmerized by the sounds, flashes, the raised pitch of the announcer’s voice? Once again we’re caught up in the latest dirty tactics of a prospective presidential candidate, the quick dip in the economy, the threat of further devaluation of the dollar, and the newly discovered global tactics of ISIS. Without enough time to take a breath, the local news exposes once respected business for the lack of ethics, the lack of a moral compass as they attempt to take advantage of a local church or community organization that seeks to feed the poor. My head is spinning… what can I do?
Slow down . . . . take a deep breath inhaling slowly through your nose, lifting your eyes up high into your visual pathways, gently allow them to close as you recall a beautiful memory of a vacation time along the ocean or high up in the mountains with those you love. Now gently and slowly exhale through your mouth.
Now, with two fingers (usually the index and middle finger), firmly tap on the very center and top of your head (this is the crown chakra). As you tap into your highest spirituality, you connect with your God. Once again you begin to feel grounded, safe, and secure. Continue to gently breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth, letting go of all the stress that has entered your spirit. Allow your two fingers to now tap on the center of your forehead, often called the third eye, which is the second chakra that connects to your great intellect stimulates it to its highest potential seeking solutions to the challenges of your life. Perhaps you recall Dr. Einstein’s great comment:
“All of us born into life are a genius and we must discover our unique genius and use it to reach our highest potential.”
And last, we take our right hand and place it firmly on our heart and begin to recall all the many, many people to truly love us. We allow and encourage our subconscious mind to recall all of these people and feel the true experience of their love as we also express our deep love for each of them. We continue to gently breeze in deeply through our nose and exhale through our lips releasing any remaining remnants of stress.
Perhaps your eyes now open to a sort of “new world” in which you discover your blood pressure has lowered as well as your pulse, your breathing has become more relaxed, your spirit is calm and at peace, and only now as you are centered and balanced are you ready to meet your first challenge with the intent to conquer it as you continue forward toward excellence as you strive to reach the quintessential, the very best, your lynchpin!
