For years we believed that if a person exhibited a high or great IQ they would arrive at the point of being 95% likely to be very successful. The latest research, following the discovery and understanding of emotional intelligence (EQ) and social intelligence (SQ) , dramatically challenged disbelief with extensive research which verifies that 80% of success in most everything in life, especially sales, is based upon a jointly high EQ and SQ. The six fundamental principles and hallmark signs of this intelligence are completely and practically explained. This clearly directs one to a very different understanding of “customer service” and the power and success which is represented in the highest attributes and ethics of business. With this accomplishment one can now move to “excellence in communication”, which is often called neurolinguistic programming (NLP). Many years ago I had the opportunity of training for several months in Chicago with the originators of NLP as I completed my master degree in this exciting field of superb excellence in communicating with and understanding others.
Neurolinguistic programming is the well documented and respected science of “reading people” and subsequently understanding one’s personal communication lead system which is displayed primarily as a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner. Correspondingly one quickly learns how to appropriately respond and adjust to the system of another. This is done through the process of rapport, which accelerates the opportunity of developing significance, strong and long-lasting business relationships.
“Excellence in communication” and long-term customer relationships begin to take on a whole new meaning of being a professional salesperson who has arrived at a new level of confidence and competence, which will allow them to explore more formal leadership that will surely benefit all within the company. The employees continue to learn that leadership is a call to service and to more fully understand and lead others as well as themselves. This is best taught by way of behavioral profiles which cleverly helps all to come to a place in which they can more fully understand others as well as themselves. This accelerates the team building opportunities which can bring a company to a whole new level of success and service to others as they represent (often to their surprise) that they are becoming linchpins, as they become the quintessential, the absolutely indispensable person who is a committed employee as well as an insatiable learner. Surprisingly most employees now experience themselves enjoying their work, and performing consistently at a level of excellence. which truly culminates in a win-win for all involved.
